On
Tour with Brian Voss
Bayer Classic - Parkersburg, WV
(Feb. 21 - 25, 2007 )
This was a throw it as hard as you can week. It has been the best
way to play this pattern, because you don't have to cross too many
boards, and most people tend to keep moving left. So if you know how
to throw it hard, with control, you can stay within a few boards most
of the week. That was my strategy, and it worked. It was a little
easier throwing hard with 15 pounds, even though I did leave one 8-10,
ahhhhh!!! I used two different shiny Blue Aliens. If you're going
to throw hard, you have to have some strength in the balls, so I chose
them. I ended up drawing Chris Hayden in the first match. He shot
three 260's in a row at me, never had a chance. I came back to win
one game, but then he shot 250 at me the last game and send me home
packing. When luck isn't on your side, you got no chance in this game.
It all evens out sometime, just have to be there long enough to last
through the different phases. Anyways, 3 tournaments left to get some
desperately needed points, so have to regroup and prepare for the
US Open.
Stay tuned.
