On Tour with Brian Voss

Lake County Indiana Classic - Hammond, IN (Nov. 15 - 19, 2006 )

Hello out there. This was a much better week, under the late circumstances with my injuries. I finally got in some good practice prior to the tournament, and it paid off. We played on the Chameleon pattern, which played different than previous ones. The shot started out right around the first arrow. The straighter you could go, the better, until after 3-4 games, and then you had to move in a little. It didn't get into the 4th or 5th arrow like usual, because most players stayed out during the first few games. I shot a 100 over and some change the first round, right in the middle of the pack. The second round I was really sharp, and shot about 300 over to finish in 8th position. I primarily used a strong Scorpion most of the time, until they broke down, and then switched to a Shiny Green Alien the last few games. I got paired up against Tommy Jones, not the best of draws. We battled it out good the first 4 games, splitting the games 2-2. I lost the left lane during the 5th game, which produced a lot of splits. Tommy kept moving left, and didn't have any problem getting to the 1-3. He coasted the last two games and eventually won 4-2. Overall, it was a good week, just have to build on it, and keep working hard. Wish my luck, I'm giving it my best.
