On Tour with Brian Voss

Discover® Card Windy City Classic - Vernon Hills, IL (Nov. 22 - 26, 2006 )

Wow, what a week. Can't remember scores being as high as they were for a long time. As I said earlier, we are learning these new patterns. None of them have played like last year, so it's an ongoing process. I did manage to shoot a 300 game, one of many, but couldn't keep up the striking pace. I don't agree with conditions that easy, but it is what it is, and you just play the hand that is dealt. You could play anywhere on the lane out of the gates, using all kinds of equipment. You could use something weak and play outside, or something strong, and play further in. I was in the hunt off and on, but after a 160 game during the last block, I lost about 100 pins to everyone, and just couldn't catch up. Ended up 380 over, and the cut was around 460. I used some Blue Aliens, shot 300 with my Green Alien, used an R47, and a Cheetah. Hopefully, the choices in structuring a competitive environment will get a little more professional, make then a little more challenging next week. We'll see. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!!!
