On
Tour with Brian Voss
Buffalo (Feb. 22 - 26, 2006
)
I had two solid rounds on the same pattern that I won on 4 weeks ago.
I used one ball for all of the qualifying games. It was the same R47
that I won with a few weeks ago. I just used speed adjustments and
played around the first arrow most of the time, and qualified 4th.
I was paired against Wes Malott, who was a victim of mine in the round
of 8 on my way to winning. I waxed him 4-0 then, but this was a much
better match. I started out using the same ball, but after 2 1/2 games,
he was a little left of me, and I was forced to move in with him.
I was down 1-2 before I pulled out an Alien, and won the next two
games convincingly. In the 6th game, I needed a strike to win the
match and left a solid ten pin. Needless to say, it went to game seven,
and he started with an open and then threw the next 8 in a row, shutting
me out in the 9th frame. I feel good about this week, just another
opportunity to win gone. There's only 5 more left, gotta keep working
hard. Two of them are majors, so everyone will be pressing. Look for
me next week in Akron, made the telecast there last year.
