One year shy of the big 50, Jim Phillips achieved the greatest feat
in his bowling career thus far...PBA Regional Champion! Over the last
couple of years, Phillips has dedicated himself to taking his game
to the next level. It looks like all of his hard work has paid off.
During Saturday's qualifying round he risked missing the cut until,
with two games to go, he switched to his Elite R47. Phillips shot
215 and 249 to make the semi-finals by just a few sticks.
On Sunday he found himself in a similar situation going into the last
game of the semis. Once again he made the change to the R47 and threw
the last 7 strikes to shoot 234. He qualified 16th and proceeded to
blow through the field with the R43 and Alien, going 7-0. His victory
earned him $2,500, a beautiful trophy and his 1st PBA regional victory.
Not only did Jim earn $2,500 for his victory he also earned an additional
$2,000 from Elite. Jim uses Elite Equipment exclusively.
