On Tour with Robert Smith

Fountain Valley, California (Jan. 21, 2008 )

I get to finally come back home, good ole SoCal. Fountain Valley Bowl was a frequent stop for me back in juniors, when it was wood and tough. And as usual was a reunion for us to talk story and remember how dumb we were at 16-18. Quite funny.

Anyway, my wrist was better but not a 100%, but got through with a grip change from full fngertip to a semi. Little different feel but not bad. Can't really cup it like I am used to, maybe a blessing.

So I had 3 balls, a Gold Label, Black Label and a Cheetah. First block was a night mare, start 154, and never recovered going -42. Wasn't throwing the ball well at all.

2nd block was right in my wheel-house. Loft 6th-7th arrow, and went +150 with a 289 going front 10, stone 9 with Gold Label. Lots of recovery own lane.

But the 3rd block came and was the first block all over again. Start 162 and had another 160 late, and that was it. Cashed but was not pleased with my exectution. Gotta learn the grip.

Off to vegas baby!!! Doubles, and the Toc are next. Will be interesting on how the wrist lasts. We will see. Take care.

Robert Smith
