The Beginning Of Tour Season
(Oct. 30, 2007 )
Hello all and welcome back to the beginning of tour season!!! You
wouldn't believe how long of a wait it has seemed since I last bowled.
I am really happy to be back though. I would like to tell everyone
that my hip is good. I feel strong and believe I have finally found
a method of staying healthy...cross your fingers folks. Nice to see
the guys again. For most of them I did not see for a whole year, felt
like a class reunion.
I started on B squad this tournament, which meant the 'burn' was in
play, my favorite set in this tourney. I started with a R43, something
which would allow me to create some angle through the front sithout
losing hit. And as if the Gods were reminding me I am back. I begin
with six 10 pins, and a 7-10...183, welcome back Bob. But settled
into a 257 and 246 next 2. I made the turn and shot 180 and 180 to
finish. +50 and in the cut. Felt good to be back though.
Second day is A and the 'fresh'. Not my favorite, but felt that I
could really make a strong move. I started with a smooth layout green
Alien with surface. Trying to control the backend but the left lane
caught me bad at the start of game 1 and shot 147. Boom!!! -57 that
game and now chasing. 230-160-230-190 to finish, but seemed as if
when I got one pair the next was not close. I think I was just not
sharp and maybe wasn't ready for the grind that the Masters gives.
I think my target line is off some, which means losing the right trajectory
to the break point. So I tried to quiet my swing by keeping the arm
tucked tight in the swing. It seems to have helped my balance and
thus my target line. We will see.
Anyways, welcome back again. I hope everyone enjoys the season, I
will for sure. Take care and be safe.
