On
Tour with Robert Smith
Taylor, Michigan (Nov. 3, 2007
)
Howdy everybody!!! We are here in Taylor, Michigan, home of Taylor
Lanes and Kid Rock. I have bowled well here in the past, but was wood
lanes the last time I made a show. But one of my favorite stops during
the year. The fans are great here and again this year was great turn
out by them.
This week we bowled on Viper pattern, 37 ft and heavy volume. With
he pattern being short, The break point will tend to be to the right,
about 3-5 board on the break, but can pick your angle to the breakpoint.
So I start with a Viper ball on our first block. Needed the ball to
read the pattern, but not laboring to get the pocket because of the
far right angle. And from there as the lanes carried down and burned
up in the front, I switched to a Shark. Same cover as the Viper, but
a much earlier roll, to allow the ball to still read when I had to
move left. Barring 2 really bad games I bowled well. 70 out of cut.
The night block I decided to go a little different route and decided
to go backwards on my process in the morning. So I went to a Shark
again to read early, then switch to a Chameleon, and hi-RG ball with
some get back. I hit the hole all night, but with the extreme angles
I was using, My carry suffered horribly. A good week as far as execution,
results of course need to be better. But 2 weeks, still getting back
into bowling shape. 14 games has been the most in a day since my injury,
so pleased with my body's strength. Well take care all and will let
you know how the tourney in the Buffalo area goes next week. Bowl
well and remember, The Simpler Choice, Elite.
